History and architectural heritage

The campuses, centres and buildings of Sorbonne University represent an architectural, historical and contemporary, heritage, that is sometimes overlooked, but remarquable, and which continues to evolve today.

Academic collections and heritage

The collections of zoology, paleontology and paelobotanic, petrology, and metallogeny maintain close ties with the research teams, while having a strong heritage dimension. Not only study materials, they are also essential resources for the history of the Faculty of Science, its scientific practices and their teaching.

SorbonNum

The digital library SorbonNum gathers the Sorbonne University’s documentary and scientific heritage collections. It is a tool intended for the consultation, online promotion and the enrichment of the university’s heritage collections, through collaborative annotation tools.

SorbonNum+

The Direction des Archives, Bibliothèques et Collections muséales (ABC) is responsible for a portion of Sorbonne University’s scientific, technical and artistic collections. The SorbonNum+ platform gives access to the inventory databases with more than 60,000 objects and samples coming from the scientific and heritage collections.

Service des Archives (Archives Department)

The Service des archives et du recueil des actes (SARA, Archives and Proceedings Collections Department) is the successor of the archives deparments of Paris-Sorbonne University (Paris IV) and Pierre and Marie Curie University (UPMC-Paris 6). The department has been preserving their archives since their establishment in 1971 as well as the repository of the current institution, Sorbonne University.

Mineral Collection (Jussieu Campus)

It is one of the oldest mineral collections in France.

Open to everyone, the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions provide a unique insight into the mysteries and the beauty of the mineral world.
